Maddie Rean grew up in the rural Midlands of South Carolina, with a musical upbringing that included classic and southern rock, country, and the blues. She initially pursued softball in college before returning home and deciding to pursue music after encouragement from friends and family. She started posting videos on social media, including her hit "Whiskey & Women". Her "Whiskey & Women" video gained significant traction on TikTok, leading to a surge in her following. Maddie has performed extensively across the East Coast, sharing the stage with artists like Parmalee, Jimmie Allen, Lonestar, and Vanilla Ice. Maddie has won awards for "Best Original Music", "Crowd Choice", and "Judges Choice", and has been nominated for various Carolina Country Music Awards.
